Ideal Wine Serving Temperature for Viognier Wine

Although the exact origins of Viognier are unknown, it is thought to be native to the northern Rh么ne Valley region of France. The grape was first mentioned in written records in the early 1800s, but it is believed to have been cultivated in the region for much longer. Viognier was once a very popular grape variety, but its popularity declined in the mid-20th century as growers began to favor more productive grape varieties.

Today, Viognier is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, thanks to the efforts of passionate wine producers who champion the grape's unique qualities. Viognier wines are typically very aromatic, with pronounced floral and fruit notes. The grape produces rich, full-bodied wines with high alcohol levels and moderate acidity. Viognier is an excellent complement to food, and can be paired with a wide variety of dishes.

Ideal serving temperature for Viognier wine is 10 degrees celsius or 50 degrees fahrenheit

"Hi l am Wim, sommelier, and wine enthusiast just like you! My fellow sommeliers understand the importance of serving wine at the correct temperature. They know that if wine is too warm, it will lose its flavors and complexities, and if wine is served too cold, it will numb your taste buds. A few world renown sommeliers and myself will explain this further, and share some interesting (taste) case studies."
